This illustration was inspired after a client meeting. The discussion was based on the de-evolution of social, economical and natural constructs, hence the title ’3,2,1,0′. I enjoyed sketching out various visuals, but the final idea seemed to emerge from a combination of these sketches. All the base images had to be photographed, so for photos of animals I went to Woburn Safari Park, a special thanks to John for arranging privileged entry, without which half of these shots would have been impossible. The construction shots were courtesy of London road works, one doesn’t have to go far in London to find this!
The digital composition was illustrated in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator CS5. Re-touched and colour corrected, all components were given a collective global appearance of coherence. This illustration took 24 hours of computer work and 12 hours of preliminary sketches and brainstorming to resolve.
So if I had an opportunity to re-create this illustration then perhaps I would add more atmospherical effects and symbolically perhaps I would use a lizard in the foreground, what do you think? Overall I am happy with the results.
